The Travels of a Jamie; Adventures of a Curly Girl. Travels, adventures, and rants from a curly girl in New England. Sunday, February 5, 2012. I have fallen off the wagon. I haven't been blogging. Time to jump back on the Wagon. I just started doing product reviews as a BzzAgent. Here is my first go at it! I LOVED the Spinaci Pizza! It was so different than the typical frozen pizza blah. I would most certainly try this out again! It was a nice little meal for a Sunday afternoon. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Travels of a Jamie; Adventures of a Curly Girl. Travels, adventures, and rants from a curly girl in New England. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Washington DC, Jan 2011. My buddy Libby. This was on the way back, time for CHINESE FOR DINNER. yum! It was absolutely beautiful and Erie. I didn't get to see the Vietnam Memorial, but I was a big fan of the the Korean Memorial. It was beautiful. I never realized how BIG the monument was. I mean, I knew it was massive - but standing in front of it is sobering!

Wednesday, May 21, 2014. A feature of working for a start-up. Is that there is more than the usual freedom around work allocation. A couple of my colleagues and I use this to combine our two favorite activities: pontificating and hiking. Often when there is a hard problem to solve in our software product we head for the hills for a morning (or sometimes a day) and hike. The hike starts in the parking lot at the Waterville Valley ski resort and has a remarkably constant gradient for about 80% of the way.

Friday, February 1, 2013. I was standing in line waiting to board the flight from Charlotte to Boston and noticed a young, somewhat flamboyant looking woman standing across from me holding a black bag with meshed sides. Inside the bag was a cat, it stood up and turned around a couple of times and I made eye contact with the young woman just as I was thinking, “now what on earth would possess someone to bring a cat on a flight with them…”. 8220;What that crazy woman is doing on a plane with a cat? Someone...

Friday, November 15, 2013. This hike came quickly on the heels of the last trip. It brings the count up to 43. It is one of the perks of my job that we occasionally take to the hills to catch up on work plans and to figure out strategies to solve new problems that our software is designed for. This has been something that we have done since we worked together at a previous company and the decision to go on a trip can sometimes be at short notice (in this case the day before). The trail is relatively easy...

@Home: Epic hikes: Pemi loop
http://timbouwer.blogspot.com/2011/07/epic-hikes-pemi-loop.html
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Epic hikes: Pemi loop. I mentioned before that I went on a long hike. In Maine along a section of the Appalachian trail. And then again in Yosemite up the Half Dome. This year my hiking friend (it is an understatement to call him a seasoned hiker) came up with a multi-day hike of epic proportions. He modestly presented it in the week preceding the hike (to those interested) as "a couple of options" for a Pemi loop. We had planned to meet two other hikers (another hiking friend of ...

Friday, July 11, 2014. Mnt Adams - direct. Is one of the 9 mountains that you will hike over if you ever do the Presidential Traverse. John, Bruce and I did this long traverse. Almost exactly one year ago (7/13/2013) - a grueling 15-hour hike over almost 18miles. This week we decided to hike up Adams, the second mountain on the traverse, as a filler hike while I wait for a good window to do my last 4000 footer (Mnt Isolation) with my sons. After the somewhat unrelenting ascent through the forest we arriv...
