כשנתבקשתי מטעם יד ושם למסור עדות על עברי בשואה תקפה אותי חרדה. זמן רב עבר עד שפענחתי, אם בכלל, פשר חרדה זו. מסירת עדות על קורותיי בשואה היא בעצם הודאה וקץ ההכחשה העצמית והשכחה שגזרתי על עצמי בלא יודעין וללא כוונה. ההכחשה הייתה רגשית והתבטאה ברתיעה מלגעת בנושא והדחקתו ואולי אף בהתרחקות מאנשים עם גורל דומה. רציתי להיטמע בתוך היישוב אולם ללא הצלחה יתרה. מעולם לא הסתרתי את היותי אחד מאלה (ניצול שואה), אך גם לא הכרזתי על כך אולי מבושה. קשה לי לדמיין ולחזות איך ייראו הדפים שיכילו את זיכרונותיי ומה תהיה כמותם,.
