David Legge BA: November 2010
http://davidleggeba.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 23 November 2010. David Bull Advice and Ideas. After having a one on one with David Bull. He explained to me how all films have similar ideas and that there are only 5 to 7 stories which are being recycled in interesting new ways, take Tron Legacy for example and the critically acclaimed Avatar. I talked him through the story boards, and he felt the storyline was funny and thought it would definitely work better as a short. The talk was really useful. A Mongolian man (mongol) is preparing his fo...

David Legge BA: Evaluation
http://davidleggeba.blogspot.com/2011/06/evaluation_20.html
Monday, 20 June 2011. During the pitching process, I was given a lot of positive feedback by the tutors, but they said their was a lack of character design and camera angles, I knew the film was in its early stages but there was clearly potential. Trying to please everyone was getting the film no where. However this all changed in the alter terms. I knew I was never going to be the technical person on this team. Although Animation wasn't my strongest point I felt that my animation went quite well. Http:/...

David Legge BA: Cinematography
http://davidleggeba.blogspot.com/p/cinematography.html
I purchase this book from the library to help me out with the animatic. My original animatic was fairly flat in its camera, shots. I knew I would have to develop the shots and make them more cinematic. This book was extremely useful, it explains in great detail how to correctly use the space in a film from the x,y,z axis It makes u realize why shots are there in the first place. I tried to stick to the principles of this book when I made all my future animatics. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

David Legge BA: December 2010
http://davidleggeba.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 28 December 2010. Edditng and adding to animatic. Chracter concepts fully explored. Posted by David Legge. 17 enviornmental concepts so far. Here I was experimenting with different environment styles, from a textured look reflecting that of a chinese scroll type painting to a more Matt painted style. I personally feel the textured one at the bottom and the black and white picture are most effective as they are more simple which makes them more effective. Posted by David Legge. Slightly More Mong...

David Legge BA: Compositing
http://davidleggeba.blogspot.com/2011/06/compositing.html
Sunday, 19 June 2011. First Step Import multiple files, their are 4 tif files ( 1, Ambient Occlusion), (2, Character layer), (3, Environment layer), (4, Shadow Layer). Make sure Tiff Sequence is selected, this puts it in number order and also selects all the remaining files. Do this for each one. First drag the ambient occlusion in, this gives you some solid depth to your composition. After this drag the Background in my case the textured look, this gives a clear indication of what the film will look like.
