Black and white film photography. Laquo; Infra Red. October 31, 2013. I take pictures of subjects that interest me, and as a monochrome worker that means texture, tone, shape and form. Many are really only observation of detail and light. Must all pictures have to fit into a preconceived genre? This image is of a small group of tree reflected in the front wing of my car. Created totally in camera. Someone recently described it as a metaphor for life, everything going down the pan. Tags black and white.

Black and white film photography. November 20, 2013. The picture was taken last month in the Presili Hills. I was looking for pictures just using a 200mm lens at maximum aperture. Trying to work with the restricted depth of field and use the unfocused shapes in the background as part of the composition. Http:/ www.davidlingham.co.uk. Or leave a trackback: Trackback URL. Black and white film photography. Laquo; Creative Thinking. February 10, 2014. I often spend time on the internet looking for an interesting quote, or a passage of text that strikes a chord with my own views on photography For this blog page I have included one of my recent finds. It just says everything I feel about producing honest images for yourself. I cannot recall who it was attributed too, neither can I remember where I found it, but I realise how true it is. Black and white film photography. Laquo; Wistmans Wood. July 5, 2015. A comfort zone is a wonderful place. But nothing ever grows there. This is one of my sporadic, ramblings I call my blog. This time on the subject of praise and comfort zones, and how they can affect your work. I wonder if anyone can relate to this experience. I would say to any artist: ‘Don’t be repressed in your work, dare to experiment, consider any urge, if in a new direction all the better.’. I am very self critical and constantly ...
