David Meets...: In Conversation With Catriona King
http://davidmeets.blogspot.com/2013/12/in-conversation-with-catriona-king.html
Monday, 9 December 2013. In Conversation With Catriona King. I’m chatting to fellow crime writer, Belfast based Catriona King, author of the DCI Craig novels, the fifth of which, The Broken Shore. Is released this week. With that in mind, what makes a doctor turn novelist? It can’t be the money. Is it your knowledge of the human body, how it works and particularly how it dies? Or are you really looking for fame and fortune? Hi David, it’s lovely to chat to you. What makes a doctor turn into a novelist?

Tuesday, 17 December 2013. In Conversation With Frances di Plino. This week, I’m chatting to an old friend, Frances di Plino, creator of Detective Inspector Paolo Storey. Under her real name, Lorraine Mace, she is also regular humour columnist in Writing Magazine. And a tutor for the Writer’s Bureau, with a list of achievements long enough to make the most laid back scribe envious. Sorry to disappoint, but the answer is neither of those things. Although, when Call it Pretending. Yes, I do sometimes, but ...

Thursday, 12 December 2013. In Conversation with Catriona King Part Two. The second part of my conversation with Catriona King, author of The Broken Shore. The fifth title in the DCI Craig series. Go here to read part one of this interview. We were talking about your theatre work, and coincidentally,. I also quite like the idea of doing a ‘treatment’ on one of my novels to see if there’s any interest in. MmmmI’m sure what you say about an ‘angle’ is true, in that it’s the view of ...I think some TV execs...
David Meets...: In Conversation with Nik Morton (Part Two)
http://davidmeets.blogspot.com/2013/11/in-conversation-with-nik-morton-part-two.html
Thursday, 21 November 2013. In Conversation with Nik Morton (Part Two). The second part of an extended chat between novelist Nik Morton and myself. For part one go here. When I think about plots and theme, I was impressed with Blood of the Dragon Trees. When we talk smuggling, we usually think of diamonds, drugs, even people, but endangered species was a stroke of genius in my estimation. Thanks for that, David. I first hit upon the endangered species angle with a short story, featured in Spanish Eye.

Penning from Planes | Reflections on a time away by David Meffe
Reflections on a time away by David Meffe. Through the Turkish Glass. Three Free Rides in Montenegro. It was nearly noon by the time we’d just about given up. Hot and battered, the unapologetic Mediterranean sun cared little for our curses whispered undermouth. With everything we owned strapped to our backs, sweat stained the pavement with a hiss. Let’s try a little further up the road, Mel suggested. If not, we’d call it quits and take the bus. And here our troubles began. Without cue, the three of us f...
