The Faro Laser Scanner has a field of view of 360 degrees vertical and 305 degrees horizontal – the reduction of the latter due to the design of the casing. The above image represents the infrastructural layers as templates generated through CAD and transferred to Adobe Illustrator in order to laser cut the layers comprising the body of the model. Each panel was cut from 3mm plywood in the laser cutting machine. The layers were spray painted and subsequently assembled using brass book binding screws inserted through the aligned laser cut holes in the plywood layers.
