Madonna di Campiglio, where Rick Montoya finds himself in Death in the Dolomites. Sits north west of Trento in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. It's location in a bowl surrounded by mountains on three sides makes it an ideal vacation spot all year round. All the ski runs start and end in the town. After skiing or hiking, it's fun to walk around the town, especially the main piazza, perhaps stopping for a hot drink. Potato gnocchi with a creamy cheese sauce. Finally pizzoccheri.

David and his wife are graduates of Michigan State University. They served in the Peace Corps in Chile before returning to his home town of Mount Vernon, NY, where he taught high school. The above photo was taken on the campus of Michigan State during the celebration of 50 years of the sport of lacrosse at MSU. David is a proud member of that original lacros. The Wagners now live in the city of Pueblo, on Colorado's front range, with their two cats (left to right) Baffi and Mitzi.
