Dave's '85 Delta-88 Royale. I painted my car myself, in my back yard. The color is a medium metallic gray, just as it was from the factory. The paint is Glasurit 55 Line base / clear, and polished with Zaino. New chrome on the bumpers, polished trim, and many, many hours of work. Passenger side view, in the local park. New emblem, hood ornament, headlight bezels, and one seriously big hood. Painted SSIII wheels. Not stock for the Delta, but Oldsmobile none the less. Twilight in Mom's driveway.

Checking alignment of Norton crankshaft vs mainshaft by placing a straightedge across the engine sprocket and clutch hub. Closeup of the alignment check shows either the engine is twisted to the left, or gearbox is twisted to the right. Checking the clutch hub relative to engine mounting plates. A right angle magnet against the cradle, and a combination square from that to the clutch hub. Gearbox is twisted slightly to the right, the wrong direction to account for engine to mainshaft misalignment.

Freshly Painted Norton Tank - R-M Carizzma Candy Red. Beware of aftermarket Norton headpipes. That don't clear the kick lever! Some differences in right pipe welding:. Left side - aftermarket pipe. Right side - OEM Norton pipe. Rebuilt Motor March 2005. Bored 20 with Emgo pistons. Yamaha 700 Maxim X painted with RM Carizzma. Turn off garden hose before painting. Hose sprung a leak just as I was laying the last coat of clear. My Bro' with his new VTX. And the V-ROD, 'cuz the Honda crashed.

Dave's 1985 Olds Delta-88 Audio Install. My CD Receiver - Pioneer DEH-P6400, and the wood grain plastic dash panel from my 1985 Delta-88 Royale. Note the home made sheet metal "ears" that I fabricated for mounting the head unit into the factory opening. The lower section of the panel has been cut for a 7 inch opening, centered around where the knob cutouts used to be. No going back now. The 85 Delta-88 didn't come with any speakers in the front doors, only 3-1/2's in the dash and 6X9's in the deck. I...

My 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale. 1985 Olds Delta 88 Royale, 4 door. 307 V-8 motor, maybe someday to be a 403 (if I live longer than the 307). 250,000 miles (as of March 2011). Not sure how much longer she’ll last, but she doesn’t owe me a nickel. Purchased for $1500 in May of 1997. In 2002 I did a complete paint job (did it myself), new SSIII wheels, rebuilt the tranny, rechromed the bumpers, and put in a Pioneer CD player and some new speakers. The Delta's Audio Install.
