Red Hair II | David Reid
https://davidreidart.wordpress.com/2015/03/26/red-hair-ii
Working and not working. An experimental evening. Another painting of Kate, this time face on. A much more aggressive application of paint, which was great fun! It brings a random element to the process which is difficult to keep control. Having said that, it was a bit like a demo without the chat. So I was able to concentrate better and do more in the same time. By David Reid on March 26, 2015. 10 Responses to “Red Hair II”. Said this on March 26, 2015 at 1:06 pm. Red hair III | David Reid
https://davidreidart.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/red-hair-iii
Working and not working. It will be tomorrow when I decide if that is it. I think it is. It is my favourite of the three. Kate’s expression here is somewhere between melancholia and “Can I go soon? By David Reid on April 1, 2015. 9 Responses to “Red hair III”. I’m captivated by her – the complement of her eyes against the red hair is awesome. Definitely can feel her annoyance and wanting to go, that’s so good David that you captured this expression. You are a master of portraits. Kathryn, I am so lucky t...
Orchid | David Reid
https://davidreidart.wordpress.com/2015/06/02/orchid-2
Working and not working. A still life using palette knife and sneaking in a wee brush mark or two. This orchid is from the artificial flower company Bloom. A fine permanent model to try out technique before the frustration of perishable real ones. By David Reid on June 2, 2015. 7 Responses to “Orchid”. Real nice texturing David. Said this on June 2, 2015 at 8:46 pm. Said this on June 3, 2015 at 9:12 am. I love the pallette knife work. Said this on June 3, 2015 at 8:24 am. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Spectacles | David Reid

Working and not working. A quick 5 minuter for the Tuesday homework. A pair of poundshop spectacles in pencil. Not wearing them at the time, obviously; hence, the pic is out of focus! LPM – done! | zara-moon arthur

A place to show and share my artwork, past and present. LPM – done! Oh how i would love to report back that our performance was a mindblowing success….but alas! The korg midi controller i’d practiced with would not work despite never giving trouble at rehearsals, but that’s ok too, use the clumsy trackpad and forfeit a lot of the smoothness of the piece, but no matter, LET’S DO THIS! A few minutes in (it’s happening we’re doing it woohoo! Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Yes, i’m le...

FRAMED! | scribblah

I'm an ARTGEEK! I scribble. I print. I love it. To Buy My Art. The boring, mundane side of being an artist. It isn’t all about creativity. I have an exhibition. Coming up next week and the work has to be framed and, being a skint artist, I can’t afford to take over 2 dozen works to the framers so I’m knuckling down and doing it myself. It’s a mixture of linocuts and drawings, a new body of work. I’m working at the Creative Bubble Artspace. To find out more. Tags: 15 hundred lives. Jabbing My Finger →.

David Reid on the Road
David Reid on the Road. Chronicles of my travels. Australia, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore. Saturday, August 06, 2011. Back in 2005 I posted a map showing the countries of the world I have visited. From the time I visited Sri Lanka in 2003 up until this year I hadn't visited any new countries. However, in the past few months I have visited Japan. So it is time to update the map. Create your own visited country map. One day in Singapore. I had booked a bed at The InnCrowd Hostel.
