A historian by training, David Rivolier discovered video via documentary films in. It was as a researcher, then later as an assistant director, that he learned the ropes. Working with images was not a discovery per se; years spent drawing had already. Instilled in him a sense of the new, variegated image-culture. His apprenticeship in video filming and editing will help him synthesize these elements. While adding the key ingredient of story-telling. Discoveries and learnings he perceives in each project.

Lundi 29 septembre 2014. J'ai passé un week-end complet à me casser les dents sur la dentelle du bâtiment J4 du Mucem à Marseille! J'ai essayé de la saisir sous toutes les coutures. De l'intérieur, c'est une masse mouvante, dense et lourde mais elle laisse voir le paysage marin à l'arrière. Aquarelles, 21x60cm sur carnet moleskine aquarelle]. De l'extérieur, elle est changeante, insaisissable; la lumière la modifie en permanence.Elle se fait opaque ou transparente suivant l'endroit où l'on se trouve.

Samedi 8 août 2015. Jour de foule à l'expo JPG au Grand-Palais! Lundi 3 août, c'était le dernier jour de l'exposition Jean-Paul Gaultier au Grand-Palais : il y avait foule! C'était presque impossible de se déplacer normalement, les gens agglutinés les uns aux autres prenant des photos sans arrêt; c'est à croire qu'ils ne peuvent voir qu'à travers l'écran de leur téléphone ou de leur tablette.
