Pursuing the Wind: The Bible Idol
http://pursuingthewind.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-bible-idol.html
Striving to find what really matters in life is like pursuing the wind. Some days you can feel it almost creep inside of you; other days, it feels like it is gone, and you will never again feel it enliven your mind or heart. It's a journey. Yet, as with all good journeys, I believe there will be an end. Recently a friend began a discussion on the concept of whether or not some Christians make the Bible an idol. After all, anything good can be made bad by worshipping it rather than the Creator, right?

Tuesday, January 13, 2009. The Command that's Good for You. The Commandment to Keep the Sabbath is one of the few commandments on which Jesus specifically comments. During one of his debates with the Pharisees he says, “The Sabbath was made for Man, and not man for the Sabbath.” [Mark 2:27 NKJV] One point we can draw from this comment is that there is a beneficial aspect in keeping the Sabbath. This is the reality of modern service to the church and world. However, there is good news! Signs Along the Way.
