Sunday, November 30, 2008. For my act of resistance, I made sure not to wear a coat on my weekend. By doing this I hope to show myself and others how noticeable people who lack clothing, which we find essential, are. With my idea in mind I made sure to attend different activities, and at these events, I also made sure there were many people present. In many instances I was asked by complete strangers wasn't I cold? My reply was yes, then would precede to explain my reasons. Sunday, November 16, 2008.

Friday, March 27, 2009. As I Lay Dying. As I Lay Dying. William Faulkner, the author describes Darl as a typical middle aged child that feels separate from the rest of his syblings which is ironic because of the fact that physically Jewel is the sibling most separate from the others. Overall, Darl is a character that feels caught in the middle of many situations, for example Addie's death, and Dewey Dell's pregnancy, and he just doesn't know how to handle all of the built up internal conflict within him&...

Wednesday, January 28, 2009. A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning (Plog 2). This poem carries very strong diction as well. Some important words within the poem are words like: souls, love, circle, compasses, joys, fears, and innocent. All of theses words tie back into the poem and its theme. Thursday, January 22, 2009. The second stanza is powerful and shows what he is thinking right now in the present and how his life is currently with his soul mate. He is saying that he is now more powerful than he h...

Thursday, February 26, 2009. Atwood Plog: The Sad Child. The structure of this poem is very interesting because there are five stanzas and all of them are the same length except for the third stanza. I believe that Atwood did this to physically show a build up and resolution to her piece. The first two stanzas are more general and describe sad childeren and that some move past it and others dwell on the sadness. Thursday, February 12, 2009. Storm On the Island Plog 4. Pastor Dave's Blog. Passing Thoughts in the Pursuit of Christian Living. October 25, 2011 – 1:56 pm. Tagged Fixing the Broken Church. In my church, I’ve been working my way through a set of messages with the overall title, “Fixing the Broken Church.” The first message of the set was called, “Lose the List.”. My challenge here is simply this, do we have a “list” written or unwritten about what makes a person acceptable in our worship services. In a recent book, author Thom Rainer identified the top ten re...
