A very rare event has just occurred in the night sky which is visible to all with the naked eye. These images show the turquoise gas shell (left) taken with 300mm lens, and inner coma as imaged through the. This is an R:G:B image 10 minute exposure in each colour using a Megrez 110mm and SXVF-M9 CCD showing the turquoise. Outer gas coma. The central bright dusty coma appears colourless, and also overexposed in this image. Not much sleep tonight! The central coma is not quite so uniform in brightness.

NGC 3628 (Arp 317). NGC 3628 is a member of the Leo Triplet of galaxies with M65 and M66. It is also listed as Arp 317 in Halton Arp's "Atlas of Peculiar. It is an edge on spiral that is undergoing a major internal disturbance similar to the state of Messier 82 - 'The Starburst Galaxy'. There are also two main plumes.
