He was born in Washington County, Arkansas on August 23, 1912 to Oliver Riley Davis and Minnie Ethel Guisinger. His parents named him Donald Leroy Davis. His mother passed away from Tuberculosis in 1917, when he was 5 years old. After World War II, he returned to Phoenix and lived until 1954, when the family moved to Fort Worth, Texas. The Beginning and the End. That Figure on That Bed. July 1, 1919 - April 9, 2012. They settled in Phoenix and raised 3 children until early 1954 when Don packed up what he wanted in his Jeepster and moved to Fort Worth, Texas. Mildred and the kids followed via bus. In 1989 they moved back to Washington, Arkansas on some property her younger brother owned and lived next to Uncle Jim and Aunt Jean. Don passed away in September 1995 after a long struggle with cancer. Below is a memorial video of her life.

The Beginning and the End. That Figure on That Bed. January 18, 1915 - March 18, 2009. Oma 2004 89th birthday photo. In 1940 she took a bus and went to Phoenix, Arizona, arriving at midnight on May 1, 1940. She lived with her brother, Don Davis and his wife for a few weeks and then moved up the street with the Mitchell family. On July 3, 1940, D.E. Dudley arrived in Phoenix from Arkansas and they were married. She will always be known lovingly as "Aunt Dodo" to my brother and to me.
