Lilypie Second Birthday tickers. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Ava got her first hair cut. After the daycare sending her home with her hair fixed b/c david would take the stuff to them and say HELP! It was finally time to get her hair cut. We were going to just have them do the bangs, but ended up trim the back up all even. She did great, she just sat there watching Dora and drove her cool little car. Only thing I don't like is that now she looks all grown up! Links to this post. On day 3 of being stuck i...

Lilypie Second Birthday tickers. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Dear Ole Sooner Youth Camp! David and I went to help out at Sooner Youth Camp. He was a bible teacher for the youngest age and I was the nurse. It was so much fun. We had both gone there once as campers, but it was so much more fun as adults! We both grew a lot from it and got a much needed break from Ava. Speaking of that.this was the first time we had ever left her! She stayed with my mom and even got to have a couple of days with her cousin Addy!

David M. Ayres: December 2010
http://davidayres.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
David M. Ayres. He dug he a shallow grave. New poetry is coming hard lately. Below is the beginning of a story I am tinkering with. Let me know what you think. He dug her a shallow grave. When the shovel started slipping in his hands he stopped, no reason not to. He figured half of everything we do is courtesy, anyhow, and courtesy had sealed itself off inside his bones a while back. The face of his father appeared on the imaginary spectator, nodding at this act of grace. Yes, he would have done this.

David M. Ayres. I've been reading The Cost of Discipleship. Alongside a new biography about Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Not surprisingly I've been contemplating the nature of grace:. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession, absolution without personal confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.". Grace is not the light lined.
