Following Mama: May 2014

Thursday, May 15, 2014. Just a Little Longer. Last night, putting James to bed was a bit of a feat. His little body, wired from the long hours since his last nap and fueled by the dinner we were still clearing off the table, was everywhere. He was moving and moving fast- giggling, sprinting from room to room, shrieking, leaping onto my back for a horsey ride as I cleaned up the food beneath his tray. This is how most pictures of him turn out. He sure loves his hooded towels, though. To stick to some of t...

Following Mama: Thankful
http://followingmama.blogspot.com/2014/12/thankful.html
Monday, December 8, 2014. I've just finished my morning exercise routine. It took a little longer than usual, because during the 40 minute workout I also changed three diapers and did my best to pacify/not step on two whiny, curious, squirmy little boys. I’m stretching, now. I get a good two minutes in of peaceful, tension-releasing stretches. It feels good. My mind is quiet, calm, and I can see the green, red, and golden leaves of a Georgia fall outside. Then James sees me. 8220;Uh-huh.”. I am surrounde...

Following Mama: A Time and a Season
http://followingmama.blogspot.com/2014/02/a-time-and-season.html
Saturday, February 22, 2014. A Time and a Season. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.". I know this isn't typically a scripture-y blog, but that verse has been a sort of guiding sentiment for the past few years of my life. My life has been filled to the brim, lately, by three very demanding little ones (oh, that's right- I've yet to introduce our latest to blogland. No worries; all the squishy, adorable details are forthcoming! Be realized- they're just waiting...

Following Mama: April 2014
http://followingmama.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 21, 2014. This has been a crazy weekend. Crazy and good. It was filled with lots of friends and french toast and food poisoning (all is well now, promise) and egg hunts and family and church and more egg hunts and more family. We really did have a lot of fun. Still, now after everything has settled, the kids have gone to bed early, I have a headache, and I hope to be snuggled under my own covers soon. And all that it means for everyone on Earth. Second, we want Easter to feel. Like a specia...

Following Mama: Part Of the Conversation
http://followingmama.blogspot.com/2015/03/part-of-conversation.html
Monday, March 9, 2015. Part Of the Conversation. This post isn't about the kids.). So here are a few shots to tide the baby-pic-lovers over. You're welcome.). I've been busy busy busy. Too busy, most of the time, to even remember the poor, little, neglected blog I have sitting in the corner of My Internet World. And that's okay, of course. I don't feel guilty for not filling some self-imposed blog post quota sufficiently well. However, I've been really surprised by the number of times I've really, really.

Friday, July 25, 2014. Five Things For Friday - Second Edition. It's Friday, and though we're battling a few sniffles and recovering from some birthday celebrations this week, I figured I'd still try to sneak in a quick post. After all, completing a blog post is a good way to kick off a productive weekend, right? Sooooo five things. And GO. Those birthday celebrations we're recovering from? A certain someone turned five. And you know what? But we did decorate cupcakes. And we just recently finished it fo...

Following Mama: March 2015
http://followingmama.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 16, 2015. Last week, we ventured out after several weeks of cold, rain, and sickness. The boys and I went to meet Cambrie at her bus stop, and we meandered home enjoying the cloud-filtered light and the thawing breeze. No more wincing at a gust of wind. No more tugging our sleeves further down over our fingers. Just that beautiful pause between the depths of winter and the glory of full-blown spring. James loves birds, too, so against my better judgement, I called him to me. "Look, bud!

Following Mama: June 2014
http://followingmama.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Last year, during the summer season that Cambrie turned four, we celebrated her birthday no fewer than five times. It was not on purpose. There was first a combined celebration when my family all gathered together in Utah last June- all birthdays from May to July were celebrated (and gifts given/received) in one big shebang. It was fun! And THEN the presents from far-off family continued to arrive by mail even after her official birthday came and went. A note about the ice cream s...

Following Mama: This Mama
http://followingmama.blogspot.com/p/this-mama.html
Photo by BMW Photography. My name is Stephanie. Over three years ago I left my full-time job, moved with my husband to the Peach State, and started staying home with my little girl. Now that tiny little girl is all grown up (four years old! And has two little brothers who are also growing bigger each day, despite all our efforts to the contrary. I'm finding that motherhood is complicated. And one-hundred percent worthwhile. To learn a little bit more about who I am, check out some of these past posts.
