Dawn Turner: Wow, what a difference colour makes!
http://dawnturner.blogspot.com/2013/06/wow-what-difference-colour-makes.html
Sunday, 23 June 2013. Wow, what a difference colour makes! A couple of photograms that I'd started with my AA2A research. So, I did a couple of sessions in black and white before Chris, the technician showed me how to do colour printing (well, technically, didn't show me, as unlike with B&W where you can expose and print using the red safe-light, with colour you have to work in complete. Dawn Turner: January 2013
http://dawnturner.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 22 January 2013. Last Wednesday, yes, one of those days after we'd already had a considerable snow fall, myself and Gavin went on a walk with the support and guidance of a couple of the Walking for Health leaders, and some of the group members. It will take you to the Wikipedia page about it, which is as good a start as any. Happy history hunting. Well, I didn't actually use the black and white setting here! Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Wednesday, 16 January 2013. As part of The Metal Age. Gavin h...
Dawn Turner: July 2012
http://dawnturner.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 17 July 2012. I've had a few sleepless nights lately, and yesterday I nearly wore a whole through the carpet in anticipation, although we were thwarted by the weather. All in the name of intalling the Olympic Legacy Wall at Kirk Hallam (KHCTSC). Today, the weather was a little kinder, and the rain held off. A few hairy moments when it was being lifted onto it's brackets, as it's so heavy, it's there, and I think it looks rather good! The Olmypic Legacy Wall. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Crashing (Not...
Dawn Turner: June 2012
http://dawnturner.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 22 June 2012. More on the Legacy Wall. Been a while since I posted about this.it's a faily slow process really, as it is a matter of juggling days that the school were available, lots of patience waiting for clay to dry, and then kilns to fire and cool down again. This amount of tiles took several firings! We used a heavily grogged terracotta clay from Valentines Clays. In Stoke (where else? This clay, as well as being strong, has loads of texture to add interest, and is forgiving to work with!

Sarah Jennings Sculpture: Maker statement
http://sarahjenningssculpture.blogspot.com/p/maker-statement.html
My sculptures are inspired by the shapes, textures and colours of both urban and rural landscapes. As a result they often reference ornithology and the human figure; their intriguing forms inviting the viewer to touch and find their own interpretation or meaning. Although informed by the works of many, including Noguchi, Moore and Arp, my work is very much technique-led, and is the outcome of the interaction between myself and the processes and materials I am working with. Wednesday, 12 May 2010. Ok, so I didn't. I used something else that I have lots of. Big, thick, chunky tiles. But they helped me stand this glass panel up for photography, and I think I could use the technique to make feet for other panels. Go over to my university blog for a full read:.
