Dawson's Orchards, Inc. In 1946, George and Janet Dawson established Dawson's Orchards, raising chickens and growing fruit. By the early 1960's, the chicken business flew the coop and the fruit was here to stay. The Dawson's three older children chose careers away from the farm, two becoming Presbyterian ministers and the other starting a tree nursery. In 1981, the Dawson's youngest child, Carolyn, and her husband Kevin (high school sweethearts! Made the decision to return to the farm.

We raided the family albums and found some of these old photographs! The photos range from 1979 to 1988. Winesap trees loaded to the brink, bins of freshly picked apples lined up to be loaded onto a semi truck, the first packing line, walking the orchards, The Original Farmer's Market and the building of the "new" pond for irrigation.
