I just wanted to share with you one of the highlights from my recent trip to Daylight earlier this month. It was wonderful. Larry Vukov and Rod Brown from Autumn Ridge in Rochester, MN, and Pastor Cader Howard and Steve Spark from First Presbyterian in Stillwater joined me. He is an inspiration to all the children and staff because he has overcome every obstacle life has thrown at him. Four years ago he came to Daylight only speaking his tribal language, Pokot. But right away he set his mind to learning Swahili AND became a top student in the process! He is excited and wants to say THANK YOU, ASANTI SANA!

I met Kakuko in 2011 standing next to a hut made of sticks and mud. She had a scarf tied around her head; hidden beneath was the worst ear growth I had ever seen.
