Governor Riley proposed the Access idea in 2005. Access stands for Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide. That is exactly what it is! Delana Bemis's EDM310 Blog. Thursday, November 13, 2008. Randy Pausch's Last Lecture. Randy Pausch was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer with only a few months to live. He was a Professor at MIT and did his last lecture on, "Really Achieving your Childhood Dreams." At the time of the video he had three to six months of good health left. With him knowing he was going to die, he had a great sense of humor! He talked about his childhood dreams, while being comical and teaching a lesson. A new way of teaching!

Delana Bemis's EDM310 Blog. Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Growth" vs. "Fixed" Minds. They were taught that their brain was like a muscle. It gets stronger with use. The students were taught how to apply what they learned to their school work. At the end of the Semester there was a significant rebound in grades for those students.
