We've completed most of our training (we still have our Antarctic Drivers Licences to go), and have had our in-brief. All our gear is out of storage, and we're going through testing it now. DC on The Ice 2. Saturday, November 28, 2009. McMurdo parties, Cape Evans, and some outdoor activities. It's been quite a full-on week this week. Family members from the Erebus tragedy are at base at the moment. They tried to get to the crash site on Friday evening, but the weather prevented them from landing. They'll hopefully try again in the morning before flying out tomorrow (Monday) afternoon. There was a very emotional service held here at base- very intense. Right, another mix of photos this week.

There was a mechanical problem with the plane this morning, which they fixed, but not to the standard that Boeing want for passengers or something, so they're working on getting approval. This evening Naomi and I went for a bike ride across the hill, past McMurdo, to Hut Point (the site of Scott's Discovery hut). From there we walked up the Hut Point Ridge Trail for a bit, before getting bored and deciding to bike some more. Oh, and my flight's been put off a day, so now heading back on Thursday, sweet.
