Restoration of a Sardine Factory. Bar Harbor, Mt. Desert Island, Maine. Built in the 1800's, the Underwood Sardine Factory is now Underwood condominiums, eight units of beautiful Harbor living. The condominiums include the original granite quay shipping pier and the sound of ocean waves breaking on its foundation. Two minutes from the world famous Bass harbor Head Lighthouse, this brick building was the center of a Maine fishing village and is one of the best examples of a green reuse project.
