DCEF is pleased to announce that in 2016, 29 scholarships were awarded to 34 deserving recipients for a total of $27,300. Each scholarship, along with a letter of acknowledgement, was presented to the recipient at their high school awards day program in May. Davidson County Education Foundation was founded in November 1991 by Lexington businessman Bernard Hylton Thomas and several Davidson County residents who were committed to raising the level of community involvement in schools.
