Http:/ www.dcharbor.com. 서해안 시대에 걸맞는 해상교통의 요지와 서해안 어업의 전진 기지로 급부상하고 있는 대천항은 보령 시내에서 12Km, 대천해수욕장에서 1Km 떨어진 곳에 있습니다. 요즘처럼 바다 오염이 심한 때에도 더럽혀지지 않은 깨끗한 바다를 끼고 있는 항입니다. 깨끗한 만큼 어족이 풍부한 곳입니다.특히 배오징어와 꽃게는 보령의 특산물로 꼽을 수 있습니다. 대천항 부두 한쪽 건조대에 빼곡히 널어놓은 배오징어는 쫄깃함과 감칠맛으로 정평이 나 있습니다. 또 이곳의 꽃게는 다른 지역에 비해 크며 맛도 뛰어납니다. 귀항한 어선에서 막 건져낸 우럭과 도미 등으로 만든 생선회는 보령을 찾는 여행객과 미식가에게 큰 인기를 얻고 있습니다. 언제나 삶의 활기가 넘치는 대천항은 부두를 가득 메운 어선의 어민, 보령 근해의 섬으로 떠나고 돌아오는 여행객, 어판장을 떠들썩하게 하는 상인들의 삶이 한곳에 어우러져 있습니다. 충청남도 보령시 신흑동 2022.
