DC Area Christmas Light Displays. The National Christmas Tree. Is on the Ellipse just east of the White House in Washington, DC. Around the base of the tree, the National Christmas Tree Railroad. Winds it's way. The model railroad display is designed, built and maintained by volunteers. Between December 8 and 24, Santa's Workshop. Is open on the Ellipse site as well.
