Homework Contract Rage - Elizabeth Unexplained
http://greyautumnrain.livejournal.com/223926.html
Do They Have Salsa in China? The State of the Yarn. Homework Contract Rage - Elizabeth Unexplained. Lots of data but no answers. 10:31 pm September 8th, 2014. Dear Internet, I need a sanity check. On Friday Margaret’s homework folder contained a "homework contract" that both the student a parent/guardian are supposed to sign stating that we had read the homework requirements and agree to follow them to the best of our ability. This has gotten me annoyed for a complicated tangle of reasons. That is a good...

The only way to rid yourself of temptation is to yield to it. My View: What I see as the Heart of the Matter. Jul 11th, 2014 at 1:02 PM. The last line on. Most excellent summation of his views. Is what I wonder any social community can come to some basic agreement of. If we cannot find a way to work with each other - despite our different frameworks - to deal with an abuser and social gatherings then we have a pretty deep problem. Guidelines to keep in mind:. 22 comments Leave a comment. Jul 11th, 2014 0...

Happy New(ish) Year - Couch to 5k
http://couch-to-5k.livejournal.com/907052.html
Jan 26th, 2014 at 5:47 PM. Running on snow/slush is like running on sand and the variety of surfaces on the sidewalk made for quite the work out! I have signed up for the Shamrock Shuffle 8k in 9 weeks so Im hoping to get out for a training run at least once a week until then. Sadly my finances arent allowing for as many races as Id like this year. Im still aiming to complete a 5k in under 30minutes and push my distance to 10k. Any running goals for you this year? 3 comments Leave a comment.

On the job market again - Somewhat
http://nonnihil.livejournal.com/16187.html
On the job market again - Somewhat. Nov 7th, 2009. On the job market again. Well, Current Employer has finally gone well and truly crazy, and it's time for me to restart the old job hunt. Basically, they ran out of money without warning anybody, and decided to furlough the entire Cambridge office over the next couple of months, starting next week. Surprise! But wait, there's more! November 7th, 2009 05:33 pm (UTC). This furlough is in effect a layoff with no severance. November 7th, 2009 05:39 pm (UTC).

The Dark and Obscure Art of the Phone Interview - Somewhat

The Dark and Obscure Art of the Phone Interview - Somewhat. Sep 12th, 2008. The Dark and Obscure Art of the Phone Interview. Being in the midst of a job hunt, I am doing a lot of phone interviews. Because I hate phone interviews with the burning fury of a thousand suns, I would very much prefer that the phone interviews that must be conducted yield a maximum amount of useful information in a minimum of time, so that I don't have to do, eg, four or more phone interviews with the same company. Note to Comp...

Oh dear God, I'm arguing about gun control on Facebook - Dave's Journal
http://dpolicar.livejournal.com/545546.html
Now Ive tasted tears, and feared to lose my place in line. Oh dear God, I'm arguing about gun control on Facebook. Jun 20th, 2015 at 12:18 PM. Clearly I should rethink the life choices that led me to this point. Anyway, figured I'd capture this here, because that feels somehow less pathetic than just writing it as a comment on someone else's wall. Feel free to skip it. Yes, cars are dangerous on a similar scale to guns. And I'm in favor of tight regulation of cars and car operators. I'm in favor of m...

For a transitory enchanted moment. Face to face with something commensurate to his capacity for wonder. Saturday, November 8th, 2014, 2:19pm. If i can make it here. 2014 TCS New York City Marathon. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2014. What lies behind me and what lies before me are tiny matters compared to what lies within me. The Queensboro Bridge was long and surreal. Part of it was a feeling of "How am I here already? Manhattan, Part 1. I counted the blocks to the Galloway table, which was manned by people I did...

Pre-wedding post - The Color Yellow. Jun 5th, 2008 04:45 pm. Outlook from Weather Underground currently good (as long as you think a low. Of 70 is good), but I'm still holding my breath. I intend to be gorgeous. What will your new name be? Until I get my Ph.D. What are you doing after the wedding? We're going to England! And then we're moving to a bigger university apartment! And then I have beamtime! And then we're going to Taiwan and Hong Kong! I mean. are you NERVOUS, wink wink, nudge nudge? 2008-06-0...

Bottle bill questions - ChenoaMeg's reading
http://chenoameg.livejournal.com/329769.html
Bottle bill questions - ChenoaMegs reading. November 3rd, 2014. Please let me know if I'm wrong. Currently the only things subject to deposit in MA are containers for carbonated beverages - beer, soda, and seltzer. The new bottle bill will include based on type of bottle, not type of beverage (except dairy and not alcoholic beverages except beer and malt.). Here are my questions:. Why should a 30 ounce bottle of apple juice have a deposit, but not a 30 ounce bottle of wine? November 3rd, 2014 07:30 pm (U...

Some effort to update LJ again - seeking refuge in a house on fire
http://indigo.livejournal.com/514392.html
Seeking refuge in a house on fire. Im the only one who does any paperwork around here! Some effort to update LJ again. Jul 12th, 2007 at 12:07 AM. This feels increasingly like my "old emo high school/early college journal," though I was never really emo, just somewhat unstable and clingy. Ideally in the *looks at watch* seven years since I created this account I've changed a bit. (A widdle tiny bit.) I'm making an effort to post again since. Panicking some more - now that I'm out of specific companies to...
