March 7, 2006. Chloe and I were born at the house of a friend of Not The Mama's, Kathleen. She'd taken in Mama Mari out of the cold, and was rewarded with six kittens! Chloe and I came to live with Not The Mama and The Ex when we were exactly 8 weeks old. Our siblings Shanti, Charlie Girl, Macaroni, and Galahad still live with Kathleen. Happy Gotcha Day, Little Isis. Seven years ago today, Bessie and I found a half-starved, flea-ridden little black imp in the alley behind the building where I lived in Michigan. Bessie named her Isis and frankly, I thought that Bessie was going to be the one to adopt her. But she stayed with me, and now I can't imagine life without this opinionated, intelligent, independent, finicky feline. Where did the time go? The two of them can do SMACKIES for hours, and Isis just purrs and purrs. Mo and The Purries.

Bella Goes To The Vet. Since Bessie paid for half of the vet bill for the new rescue, she got to choose her first name. She chose Bellatrix. The compromise was that, if we replace "Peanut" with "Bella" - then I insisted on keeping "Fostorius" as the kitten's last name. What does 'fostorius' mean? It means neither one of us is keeping her," I replied. Yeah, right." said Bessie. She got blood tests (negative) and shots (ouch! Mo and The Purries. Grr, Midnight and Cocoa.
