I started a book club community. And it'd be great to get some people to join. I really want to focus on discussions. Our first book is 1984 by George Orwell. 2 week or 1 month time spans depending on how large or in depth a book is. PS, if I need to delete this post just let me know. Post a new comment. The Unfathomable Lamer (. Daddy Wasn't There - Austin Powers Ming Tea. Attn: Anyone who watches Mythbusters. This question is open to all those who frequently watch Mythbusters on Discovery Channel. I'm not sure about this, but it seems that there's a left-hander on the Mythbusters team 'cause during one of those "write-on-the-blue-paper-with-silver-mar. Ker" myth-introduction parts, one of those hands writing was shown to be a LEFT one. Post a new comment. Comments allowed for members only.

If you keep losing sleep- -Silverchair. I found this community on international left-handers day, or whatever it was called. I'm the only lefty in my family. Here's a funny thing- my mom apologized to me recently, she said she was convinced that it was her fault I was left-handed (from handing me my fork at the left side when I was a baby). It amused me, because I rather like being left-handed. Left-handers are in their right mind; Right-handers are in what's left of theirs.". With that, I'm off!

Influential Philosophical works? - Ceaseless Reads: Reading Comp
http://ceaseless-reads.livejournal.com/40760.html
Ceaseless Reads: Reading Comp. SF Site - the best in science fiction. The Classical Fiction Writers. A brief history of western man. For me, I'd nominate "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. I'd put it into the existentalist camp. What books dealing with philosophers or certain philosophies.even those only roughly connected (not classically considered a "philosophy book") would YOU recommend? 7th-Sep-2008 01:01 am (UTC). I have a penchant for Marcus Aurelius' Meditations. Sensible fellow.

Paint Pastel Princess- - Silverchair. Here's a list of my June reads with short summaries/reviews of each. Since it was my first full month off school, it's mainly fluff. I'm currently working on the Harry Potter series and Lolita. Song for the Basilisk, Patricia A. McKillip. B. I find it exceedingly difficult to describe the plots of most of McKillip's novels. There were bards- and the prose and cover are loverly. The Pride of the Peacock, Victoria Holt. B . Victoria Holt is such a guilty pleasure!

Feel free to make this into a meme. But I was just thinking that there are a few books I've read in the last year that I wish everyone- okay, let me rephrase: everyone at least in USA, as these books might not apply to people who live elsewhere- would read. Here's the list:. The Advancement of Women", by Virginia Valian. Lifting the White Veil: An Exploration of White American Culture in a Multiracial Context", by Jeff Hitchcock. Post a new comment. Tomorrow begins my first semester of uni (and good luck to everybody else starting school! So I'm guessing that as a music major, this has been the last chance I have to read very much until Christmas break. :( Ah well! Here's a list of my August reads, with summaries/review of each. Lost in a Good Book, Jasper Fforde. B. After reading and loving The Eyre Affair. And I didn't like Thursday as much in this one. A Curse Dark As Gold. Elizabeth C. Bunce. B-.
