Eric Z. Beard. Wildflower Big Year 2013. Birders have a contest called “The Big Year”, which challenges them to identify the most different species of bird in one calendar year. In 2011, there was a movie about The Big Year. Starring Jack Black, Steve Martin, and Owen Wilson. It’s 2013, and I’ve been working in the software industry for more than a decade–you’d think I would have my own site by now. But every time I started to work up the motivation to actually do it, I remembered that the domain I wanted, ericzbeard.com, was taken. Until now! I just happened to check the domain today, and apparently whoever owned it before let the domain expire, so now it’s mine! February 28, 2013.
