What Olivia Did...: August 2015
http://www.whatoliviadid.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
A fashion and style blog scattered with beauty, music, cooking and current trends, as well as the ramblings and adventures of a girl called Olivia. Photo by Kitty Gallannaugh). A day trip to Happy-Gate. Another place I'd been desperate to try. With a train journey to Leeds paired with a short car journey (fuelled by chatter, giggling and wedding talk)- Lucy and I pulled in to a very sunny Harrogate, before hot footing it to Betty's Imperial Rooms to sample their infamous Lady Betty. However, no visit to ...

Project Take 10: Brit Stitch. Dog walking, sunny afternoons and smart new leather backpacks- what more could a girl want? These photos were taken a few weeks back, just in case you thought me a fool for wearing thick black tights on one of the recent scorchers we're been experiencing! Have added a new baby to their family- the backpack. I can imagine it would be great for holidays and festivals too, no more faffing about with tote bags and getting one aching shoulder! What colour floats your boat?

Squid Squad: Ruby Red
http://squidsquads.blogspot.com/2013/10/ruby-red.html
I finally got round to watching Rubinrot. Ruby Red), the film version of Kerstin Gier’s Precious Stone (or Gem) trilogy. I wrote a review of the books some time ago on this blog, so if you’ve never heard of it, take a look here. I was a little skeptical about the movie at first, because, in my view, German movies often look a little unprofessional compared to Hollywood productions. (One reason for that might be the difference in budgets.). Gideon de Villiers (l., played by Jannis Niewöhner) and. What wou...

A Piece of Greece. During my exchange semester in Greece, I took so many pictures that I decided to go back to the ‘old’ ways and create a photo album. Not only to have something to look at whenever I didn’t feel like filing through the numerous pictures saved on my computer, but also to polish up my handicraft skills. Hence, I went to one of our biggest stationery stores to find an album, of which I had a very clear picture in my head: I wanted a ring binder and I wanted it to have black pages. Another ...

Where Reality Meets Surreality . . . Today, one of my sisters accompanied me to an exhibition in the Albertina. That I have been wanting to see ever since hearing about it a few weeks ago. It featured paintings by the artist René Magritte. This is what I wore for the trip - notice the apples on my shirt, which are rather fitting, since Magritte had a phase where he painted lots of apples ;). My favorite works were "Castle in the Pyrenees", "Golconde" and "Le Prêtre Marié". Castle in the Pyrenees". When I...

The Sound of Snow Falling. When Bonnie's mum went to open the door, there was always someone there. And when Bonnie was little, she thought that was normal, so she tried to do the same - to magically make people appear on her family's doorstep. But for some reason, whenever she turned the door handle, nobody was looking back at her from the other side. Still, she watched her mother repeat the process over and over again, never failing to be greeted by a man or a woman in front of the entrance. I can reco...

Welcome to the Desktop. This is where we'll post any kind of creative work that's been written or painted and is therefore better presented seperately. Some of these works might have an age restriction/rating assigned. To them (like 16 , 18 etc.) - this is to protect members of our audience who might not be of age. Please mind these restrictions! Chapter 1 is rated 16 for strong language and some violence. The Empress of Dawn, deadliest star ship of The Union and flagship of Admiral Matthew Connard, hung...

There are Fairies in the Woods. Since Hailey safely returned from her year away in Hong Kong and we both finished a lot of our school work recently, we decided it's time to pick up where we left 10 months ago - so this is the first in what I hope will be a series of new posts to look forward to! Last summer a dear and very talented friend of mine - Carrie Levay, who's also done these lovely pictures in our 'Obsessed with . Paris' post. I hope you enjoyed this post, everyone!
