Peaks and Points: Glass On Fins
http://peaksandpoints.blogspot.com/2014/03/glass-on-fins.html
Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Glass on fins not only serve a crucial function but can add some style to retro inspired boards. Having built four boards now, of the three I've glassed myself, I've only ever opted to add a standard longboard fin box, as they are relatively hassle free to install. So it was time to take the bull by the horns and attempt to glass on some sidebites to the 5'8" I made last year. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Surfboard Shaping Rack Plans. Peaks and Points: Step by Step Guide to Glass on Fins
http://peaksandpoints.blogspot.com/2014/03/step-by-step-guide-to-glass-on-fins.html
Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Step by Step Guide to Glass on Fins. Glassing on fins is a daunting prospect, but there's no better teacher than experience itself. Here I've written up the steps I took to get the job done. The key to do any fibreglassing is really preparation. Getting things ready and laid out in an ordered fashion means that you don't have to think so much about "What's next". Layer up 4 layers of 4oz cloth (I used my offcuts). Place cloth onto a piece of cardboard. Using the masking tape, t...

Peaks and Points: Fin Angle Tool - Fin Angle-a-tron
http://peaksandpoints.blogspot.com/2014/03/fin-angle-tool-fin-angle-tron.html
Monday, March 17, 2014. Fin Angle Tool - Fin Angle-a-tron. An easy tool to make in order to set the cant angles of fins, though it does require a little precision. A scrap of wood - I used a 10cm x 10cm square of 9mm ply wood. A small plane - I used a bullnose plane as it cuts end grain. Be sure to mark both sides of the wood with the angle so that you know which way up the tool goes. Drink coffee to celebrate. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Surfboard Shaping Rack Plans.
