Gordano Textile Artists: Progressing.
http://gordanotextileartists.blogspot.com/2015/06/progressing.html
Saturday, 27 June 2015. Viv has been working on her piece we saw last month. You can see the size of the piece as it sits on her lap.She has been making some slips which will find their way onto the piece, below. This photo shows a closer view of the extra stitching she has added ,I think it has been couched to emphasize the seed heads. It's going to be a stunning piece, with the Eco dyeing ,printing ,piecing and stitching. Deryll had also progressed with her 'madder' piece. View my complete profile.

Gordano Textile Artists: May 2015
http://gordanotextileartists.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, 31 May 2015. Marilyn had been to London and while there had been to Margo Selby's studio. You may be able to see it in this shot.A friend is going to make one of the bigger pieces into a gilet for Marilyn. We will be excited to see it . Marilyn showed her own sample of double sided weaving. It is very effective but once again I have no idea how it is done.Again it is like 'plating 'in machine knitting where one colour shows one side and the other colour on the reverse. Gordano Textile Artists: July 2015
http://gordanotextileartists.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 17 July 2015. Sue had been given some art materials and she had been using them to create some art work. I think this was with some chalk pastels and inspired by her garden. This was some crumpled brown paper with added inks,I think. This is a lovely technique producing some leather -like paper especially if it is painted with acrylic wax and crumpled some more.It makes for a good book cover. Viv had been doing the same ,as we saw in an earlier post though she had added some gold highlights. We ar...

Gordano Textile Artists: April 2015
http://gordanotextileartists.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 April 2015. Marilyn brought along these samples, above where she had increased the percentage of the blue ,I think,by 25% each time but keeping the weave the same. She brought these two examples of different weaves ,which had been used to make large bags. And this rather lovely rug. Patricia and Carol had been along to a Quilters Guild workshop run by Janet Edmonds . They had used Van Gogh paintings as inspiration, taking complementary colours to work with. Fly stitch, cross stitch. Busy week a...

Wednesday, 1 July 2015. Sally had been sailing around the northern coastline and across to Iceland. From the sea she was taken with the rock formations seen in Iceland and had sketched on long thin sheets of paper . Her sketches capture the colours and strata of the rock. There is plenty of inspiration to be mined here. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt. Simple template. Powered by Blogger.
