EVE BOTELHO, Fiber Artist Specializing in Embroidery, Rochester NY
http://evebotelho.blogspot.com/2012/10/this-is-close-up-to-show-texture.html
Fiber Books I Recommend. Tuesday, October 30, 2012. This is a close up to show the texture the stitches create. The trees have been shaded and the stitching of the foreground has begun. The background has been airbrushed onto silk with dyes and the beginings of the machine ebroidered trees in the background are shown'. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I enjoy interpreting the intricate details of grasses and flowers into stitchery as thread and stitch imitate these details so well. Welcome to my blog.

http://www.denisekovnat.com/2016/07/network-drafting-echo-and-iris-and-four.html
Monday, July 25, 2016. Network Drafting, Echo and Iris, and Double Weave: What to Do When You Don't Have a Computerized Loom. I have a 12-shaft Macomber and I love her well. And I also love Marian Stubenitsky's ground-breaking study, Weaving with Echo and Iris. This book has way too many enticing projects and explorations for 12-shaft looms. Where to start? Nice, isn't it? Here's how the modified draft looks, after some tinkering with the treadling. The colors of the front, with a purple weft. A few deta...
Random Acts of Color: Echo Weave and Turned Taquete: Optimizing Color with Two Painted Warps
http://www.denisekovnat.com/2015/01/echo-weave-and-turned-taquete.html
Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Echo Weave and Turned Taquete: Optimizing Color with Two Painted Warps. The headline is a mouthful, but the photo above says it better. It's an Echo Weave pattern on eight harnesses, designed by Bonnie Inouye. And published in the January/February 2008 issue of Handwoven. Magazine ("Two Patterns for Two Scarves," available by clicking here. It looks longer, of course, because you've added tabby. But it's equally lovely, in my opinion, and the color shifts are just as intere...

I am an artist-printmaker. I use the environment I live in as my subject matter for my work. Living in a city meant cityscapes of rooftops and terraced houses, finding patterns in mostly a man-made environment. Now, living in the Gloucestershire countryside I am surrounded by an endless, exciting, subject matter of pattern, texture and colour. The skies near Tetbury play out the most dramatic spectacle. The evergreen trees in Winter are hunched philosophers that become consumed by mist. On 01666 880 192.
