Creepy Query Girl: If Your Characters Were Real..
http://creepyquerygirl.blogspot.com/2014/03/if-your-characters-were-real_24.html
Monday, March 24, 2014. If Your Characters Were Real. It’s one thing to imagine my characters as real people, arguing with me over which way a manuscript should go. It’s another thing to see. My characters living and breathing before my very eyes. Because I don’t usually base their appearance on actors or people in my life, so seeing someone who looks exactly. Like the person I’ve been writing about would freak me out. Much like my character after all. But what if they not only looked. The part, but acted.

Drabbles to Novels: April 2013
http://thespasticwriter.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
A collection of random brain spews from one YA/NA novelist. Sunday, April 14, 2013. I love Query Tracker. It's like excel for querying. Not promoting this as a great philosophy of life. Please don't be a pessimist :). There's a number floating around: 10%. Apparently, if you are getting a 10% request rate, you can relax and pat yourself on the back for being on the right track. But if not, then what? The average number of queries before getting a request is 65. But if not, then what? What do I do then?

This week's prompt word is flying. And so I have gone back several scenes in my wip Born Again. 8220;It’s over six months since your Gran died,” Peter Gimble grumbled into the phone. “I could understand you needed time to sort the old girl’s affairs and put the house on the market, but no, you have to up and take off on a tour round the country. And in the middle of winter…”. She’d heard it all before. So the time factor changed. Increased, but what did Peter have to moan about? At least he had a family&...

YA SF/F Lit Agencies. Saturday, April 18, 2015. I haven't posted a full-on book review in awhile, but I just had to for this one, you guys, because this. Taking her fate into her own hands, she flees to the Gyre, a floating continent of garbage and scrap in the Pacific Ocean. The book is on the...
