I win | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2016/01/27/i-win
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. Today I have been the victim of another road rage incident. I would like to share with you what was hurled at me. At 1330 I was cycling towards one of my new families for a home check. I took the London Cycling Network on Higham Road, N17. A White Van Man pulled up behind me, nearly knocking over the trailer behind my bike. And this kept going on until I took a right turn into the street I was meaning to get into. The Big Bike Addition. It should probabl...

3…..2…..1…….BLAST OFF | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2015/12/14/3-2-1-blast-off
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. 3….2….1…….BLAST OFF. As you will all know, I used to cycle a cargo bike, before my bike got stolen two months ago. Now I cycle a beautiful two wheeler Dutch Utility Bike instead. However, my love for cargo bikes has not faded and I keep being in awe with one specific brand I got to know about a year ago. Yes, it really is, a rocket! How amazingly cool does this bike look? It doesn’t only look good, it is also a bike which is really well made:. As @boxers...

The Dirty Word | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2016/02/09/the-dirty-word
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. The Great British Cycling Community. I have been part of the London branch since August last year. And, there is something which I need to rant about. WHERE ARE ALL THE WOMEN? Indeed, where are the women in this community! Tonight there is a debate at the Design Museum. The Museum has a lovely exhibition called “The Cycle Revolution” and they are holding a debate about said topic. What particularly annoys me is their Line up. FOUR MEN, one woman. 4!

A hidden gem at the London Bike Show | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2016/02/15/176
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. A hidden gem at the London Bike Show. The last few days have been a bit of a whirlwind. As you will all know by now, I helped Boxer Cycles out at their stand and test track to show people the power of the cargobike! Definitely an adventure in itself to meet people who didn’t realise a cargobike even existed. I hope we have opened a fair few eyes and minds to the idea of the best alternative to the car. At the London Bike show? Amazed, I went to see the s...

The Great TFL Waste of Money Scheme | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2016/02/03/the-great-tfl-waste-of-money-scheme
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. The Great TFL Waste of Money Scheme. Today I cycled from Lordship Recreation Ground to South Tottenham, to go to one of my families (I am a self employed housekeeper in Tottenham and take care of many families in the area). I decided to take the CS1 route and check out the bit they were working on last week. I had high hopes how it would turn out, but got bitterly disappointed instead. Tfl allocates 1% of their budget towards cycling per year. 1%! But, a...

Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. I am a thirtysomething Flemish lady who has moved for a second time in her life to London. Over ten years ago, I already cycled everywhere in this great city on a regular bike. Now, I am venturing out on my Babboe cargobike. Together with my two children, Boo and Monkey, we’ll explore, what this great city has on offer! This blog is all about my life, likes, children, (cargo)bikes and general musings. 2 thoughts on “ #badasscargobikemum.

Three weeks in London and a cardriver hits me | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2015/09/15/three-weeks-in-london-and-a-car-hits-me
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. Three weeks in London and a cardriver hits me. You read it correctly. I am here now for three weeks and yesterday afternoon, in plain daylight, on the cyclepath, a car hit me from behind. Welcome to London, hey? 24 hours after it happened, I don’t know whether I am more angry about the fact I almost lost my life or more angry at the fact the roads are so crap it happens on a daily base. So, what happened today? Their reaction was infuriating. First I...

I nearly died… | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2016/02/01/i-nearly-died
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. I nearly died…. I feel lucky today. I went to work, I picked up my son from school, I gave him a hug, we went grocery shopping and we came home. I feel lucky, because I am still alive. I nearly died. Last September. I nearly died, because a car driver hit me, while I was cyling on a strip of paint, which they call a “cycle path” over here. Why am I showing you this! Because I am furious and upset. Today, MPS Haringey decided to send me this letter:.

The Look | London Cargobike Mum
https://londoncargobikemum.wordpress.com/2016/01/19/the-look
Tales of a Flemish mum cargobiking through London. Ever since I have become a Cargo Bike mum, I have experienced “The Look”. When I purchased my Babboe Bakfiets. In Hasselt, Belgium. When I took that bike with me to London and now, cycling my Dutch Utility Bike from Harry and Kristina. But, I have never experienced The Look as much as I have experienced it today. The first thing I did, when we left, was testing the bike if it was ok to go. Brakes: check! Gears: check. Saddle: OMG MY BOTTOM IS FROZEN!
