From the University Congregational United Church of Christ. Laquo; Cake for Everyone. July 8, 2015 by pastorpeteri. In New England long ago, the Unitarian Churches in Boston used to close for the summer. Some good church-goers headed north to their. Cottages in Maine. Some went fishing. Some slept in on Sundays. I have heard it said that the Unitarians were the only church that trusted that if they took a break for the summer, their congregations would faithfully gather again in the fall. Stay safe and m...

From the University Congregational United Church of Christ. Laquo; The Seabeck Puzzle. July 16, 2015 by Catherine Foote. I wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of thumps or squeaks or whines. I come home at the end of the day to welcoming yips. I climb over a two-foot plywood barrier to enter a room that is usually reserved for guests, and my feet and ankles are immediately covered by seven warm, wiggly bodies. The whole house smells like pine sawdust, cedar shavings, and puppy. With all their...

When we first started this tradition adults could participate too. The first year we did it, I found a puzzle piece and got my own ice cream cone. But it became clear pretty quickly that this was really a kid activity. We adults just needed to step aside. Posted in Leadership Team Musings. On July 9, 2015 at 3:24 pm. Address never made p...

https://honeyfromaweed.wordpress.com/2011/12/29/our-last-day-with-christina
Honey from a Weed. Our last day with Christina. December 29, 2011. Because you all have been following along with us on this journey, we wanted to share with you her last day. Yesterday in the morning when we arrived we found out that Christina’s ICP had continued to increase to even more dangerous levels. The doctors continued to administer medication in an effort to lower it. In the end, we knew that we had to think not about our grief but what Christina would have wanted. Around 7pm, her nurses slowly...

09:45 am August 17th, 2008. Here comes the bride. Again. I picked up Matt at the train station wearing my wedding gown and veil. I was too tired to throw a party this year. But I could go out to dinner in my wedding gown. Matt was "surprised and taken aback" when I pulled up in my veil, doubly so to spot my dress. But he was "aghast" when I handed him his kilt. For a second, I thought he wouldn't do it. I said, "I don't have any other clothes! Would he make me do this solo? No, it's our ten year annivers...
