The book is “Modern Applied Statistics with S-Plus”, by Venables/Ripley (c) 1994. I was interested in it, because S-Plus is a predecessor of the R programming language. It was only a few bucks, and it had been owned by someone who was a pharmacy researcher, and I thought that was neat, too. When plotted, it looks like this:.
