Keip looking up: January 2015
http://keiplookingup.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. My husband returned to work last week. We've learned so much during the past couple months.here are just a few:. Brain injuries are frightening and weird. Neurology is a fascinating science. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. During his recovery, the Total Package decided to clean his office, and of course he unearthed another box of treasures whose provenance spans early childhood through college. I couldn't resist photographing them, so here's a peek:. This pamphlet came w...

Keip looking up: April 2014
http://keiplookingup.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 4, 2014. Odd things printed on paper. Lately I've been seeing things in print that strike me odd, so I photograph them. I bet this newspaper caption was hard to write. I imagine the layout guy struggling for words to make that slab of brisket seem appealing. Unfortunately, the phrase "drippingly moist" only makes things worse. Last month I was stuck, driving slowly, behind this gravel-laden dump truck. I say gravel laden. So she probably won't notice that my load is uncovered. When I get ou...

Keip looking up: November 2014

Sunday, November 2, 2014. The Lions of Lucerne. So, this afternoon (Sunday, by the way) I called my dentist and described to him my PAIN. Sounds like you need a root canal," he said cheerfully. He's a cheerful man. He called in a couple prescriptions, and now I'm taking an antibiotic and Tylenol/codeine, which takes the edge off the PAIN, but doesn't eliminate it. This seems like a good time to revisit Switzerland, to get my mind off the PAIN. These three were all on the same building:. So I included both.

Saturday, March 14, 2015. Because I am so qualified to offer parenting tips. Seriously, though, this is a good one. You'll thank me. This tip is called:. How to Prevent the Kids Eating all Your Chocolate. So here goes. Please don't tell. A whole Costco bag of Easter chocolates fits in there. Now the boys are perplexed, especially when they find kisses in their sack lunch and can't find the stash. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Her sins, which are many, are forgiven." Luke 7:47. Keip looking up: May 2015
http://keiplookingup.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 17, 2015. It's a good thing I don't blog for money. That said, here are some photos of spring break! We visited the Olympic Peninsula this year, which (for my non-Washington readers) has gorgeous coastline, beautiful mountains, and the only rainforest in the northern hemisphere. Our first stop was Kalaloch Lodge, on the coast. The cabins are rustic but cozy, and since the Kalaloch beach is a popular place to dig razor clams, the lodge restaurant serves delicious clam chowder. The trees that f...

Keip looking up: July 2015
http://keiplookingup.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Long ago I wrote a post about my coffee mugs, and how there are too many. I just searched my blog archive and learned two things: I need to delete a bunch of silly old posts, and I must've deleted the silly old mug post. After using a stronger word in that previous sentence, I replaced it with "silly". These days it holds my scoop and grinder brush. This one's from the Switzerland trip, last August:. The Heath factory is right there. Mug I think it seemed darling. At the time becau...

Keip looking up: April 2015

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. I should be posting spring break pictures, but my act isn't together. Here's a post in the meantime. Last week as I loaded the truck with Costco purchases, I noticed a passenger in the car parked next to mine. (The image is obscured by glare, but it was taken with my phone in a quick, sneaky way.). That Is. Awesome. Immediately, I drew a couple wild conclusions about this critter. Brake lights - BRAKE LIGHTS! Friday, April 3, 2015. Yes," I said, "I think that's common.". Lookin...

Keip looking up: May 2014

Monday, May 5, 2014. It's been a while, but of course we've been busy. For spring break we flew to Brighton, MI to see the Total Package's family. We had a lovely time. That week spring finally visited the upper Midwest, and the boys played with their grandparents and cousins, and we didn't take a single family picture. Unless there are more pages in the comic book, it seems the teacher dodged that bullet, so to speak, but I plan to ask Happy Meal when he gets home. To replace the existing ivory paint, I...

Keip looking up: June 2015
http://keiplookingup.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. I'm still blogging about spring break. Mid-June is past, the thermometer reads 90, greens and flowers fill the garden, birds nest all over the yard and poop on my windows, the gigantic (leaky) pool stands full in the driveway, and I'm still blogging about spring break. In the South, RC Cola and moon pie are a snack of legend, so he called him Moon Pie. The boys insisted this duck fell in love with them. I hadn't the heart to tell them she was using them for their large supply...
