Jamestown Settlement

On Saturday morning, we set out VERY early for the Jamestown Settlement. We were really impressed with the tour and museum. We watched a short film on the founding of Jamestown, then went on a self guided walking tour. Jamestown was the first permanent settlement in North America. It is where John Smith was introduced to Pocahontas and the Powhatan Indians. To the right is a sign that describes what the picture next to it consists of. Colonial Williamsburg

On Saturday, after Jamestown; we went to Colonial Williamsburg. It is a town actually still running as in the Colonial times. There is so much to see, we saw only a fraction in the 7 or so hours we spent there. The town depicts the customs, politics, and lifestyles of the early colonists. It was great! To the right is the Governor's Mansion. It is just one of the awesome sights here in the town of Williamsburg. Above: The gardens of the Governor's Mansion. Don't ask. The Naval Museum and. On Friday afternoon, all of us went to the Waterside Mall, and walked to the Naval Museum and USS Wisconsin. It was sooo cold that day!
