Where were the sirens? Of montreal and singapore. March 15, 2009. Of Montreal was hilarious, game, and awesome today at library@esplanade. They straight up played Beware Our Nubile Miscreants, Heimdalsgate Like A Promethean Curse after a quick absurd interview session which left Jack and Rai pretty much speechless, and ended the whole thing with The Party’s Crashing Us Now after sportingly attempting to sing Chan Mali Chan. Dude, what? But that was a pretty hilarious segment as well. Feed for this Entry.

Recessions | jimmy jammies
https://eighty6ix.wordpress.com/2009/06/08/recessions
June 8, 2009. Truth is – I thought I’d write this post maybe 1 or 2 months ago. And while those 1 or 2 months disappeared by me, I thought it would be somewhat redundant soon to mention the financial crisis. But in the strange contained and open financial ecosystem of this sunny island, the lack of everyman concern regarding the crisis makes it even more mentionable. Really, what crisis? Because that’s what was used to catch the drippings. Actually, a slab of roast pork like this is quite gruesome to me&...

Cambodia Jotter | jimmy jammies

November 22, 2009. I brought along a small notebook with me to Cambodia to write down various things – sights I wanted to see, things I bought and their costs, thoughts, etc. It got pretty ravaged by my constant digging for it in my pocket and consultation in rain, wind, drunkenness, this, that. Before I go to Taiwan and and before I get carried away by a sudden mania for buying atomisers, I thought I’d put up some stuff from in the notebook here. Siem Reap Temple Trail (in chronology). You are commentin...

November 9, 2009. Bit of a gap since my last post. Some stuff has happened and the most recent thing that happened is that I had a week’s leave and nothing planned so a week before my leave started I bought myself an air ticket to Cambodia and then legged it all over Siem Reap and Phnom Penh for 3 days each. What a week it was. If there is anything to be said about travelling solo, it’s that the fear from being overseas alone is a large part of why it’s so dang fun. Responses to “Cambodiana”. Wolf Parade...

where were the sirens? | jimmy jammies
https://eighty6ix.wordpress.com/2009/01/28/where-were-the-sirens
It has only been a month. Of montreal and singapore. Where were the sirens? January 28, 2009. A huge 2 unit fire just broke out opp my block. fire travelled from lower unit to one above. its out now, after about an hour. light beams jerking through burnt blackness. broken windows splintering into ground about 16 stoerys. There was some business with the fire ladder but the fire engine was parked pretty far from the block on the main road and the ladder wasn’t tall enough anyway. It is a loud machine.

December 7, 2008. Can’t claim to be a huge fan of kraftwerk but went to the gig anyway to defy inevitably pesky ushers and boy was it a doozy of a spectacle. in other news, it felt like attending a german embassy event. the crowd jerked into an epilectic seizure when the curtains were raised the second time and the robots appeared. A garter removal and toss. Now to send them the photos. 8230;and prepare for reservist. Ya gotta be kiddin’ me. November 6, 2008. One of the biggest things to blow my mind.

Where were the sirens? It has only been a month. January 13, 2009. But it has been trying. I will not mince my words. It has been trying. These past few months have been trying. Perhaps even the past year, but that is perhaps leaving my words a little too unminced, a bit too hard to swallow, a tad. As I said, it has been trying. I met old friends, many old friends, and acquaintances. We said hi. how’ve you been? What are you doing now? It was a riot. And the love, oh the love, there was an abundance of i...
