It was like a baby SXSW, with shows happening every night in various bars and clubs around town. A $150 all-shows wristband and a bike to get around and I was good to go. auntie cake: Of Montreal, still kicking
http://katehateseverything.blogspot.com/2014/10/of-montreal-still-kicking.html
Thursday, October 16, 2014. Of Montreal, still kicking. Saw Of Montreal play in Portland his week. They sounded great and put on a very energetic show. It was blast to be part of such an enthusiastic crowd as well! I was surprised how much of an under 21 clientele they pulled in. I haven't listened to Of Montreal in years, but they've been putting out albums consistently. Since their first in 1997. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Of Montreal, still kicking. Saturday, January 25, 2014. Also known as shoegaze) is a subgenre of alternative rock. That emerged from the United Kingdom in the late 1980s by bands such as My Bloody Valentine. The British music press. named this style shoegazing because the musicians in these bands stood relatively still during live performances in a detached, introspective, non-confrontational state, hence the idea that they were gazing at their shoes. Sunday, February 8, 2015. Came across the Music Writer Exercise #MWE hashtag. On twitter last week. auntie cake: Pickathon 2014
http://katehateseverything.blogspot.com/2014/08/pickathon-2014.html
Monday, August 11, 2014. I spent a recent Saturday at Pickathon. A "roots" oriented music festival held on a farm in Happy Valley, OR. It was my first time at this festival, and although roots/country music is not necessarily my thing, there were several indie bands on the lineup so I jumped at the chance to check it out, if only for one day. The lead singer is so fascinating! I had such a good time. It was one of the best live music experiences I ever had actually, and I think part of it was walking...
