It feels like this thing should be kept up with- as though, scoffably, it has some velocity independent of myself. Family is strange, of course. They warp a body's perceptions and behavior, and they instill ridiculous values and impressions. In a perverse shift of thinking, people have shied away from their humanity toward a sterile profit-maximizing way of life. Money and political power dominate priority lists.
