Deep Thoughts by Damara. Wednesday, November 23, 2011. All over Thailand people celebrated Loi Krathong by floating offerings made of banana leafs and flowers into the water to apologize to the water for any wrongs they had done it in the past year. There was music, food, shopping and a float/krathong contest. I'll spare you the several hundred pictures I took of the floats. Black bean ice cream on a stick in a cup. Deep Thoughts by Damara. Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Thailand, where the cats are thin and the rats are fat. Not NY fat though. Falang. I have picked up a few words in the last few days. Let’s call that word “gringo” and I hear it often. Two Falang on the back of a motorbike is probably the most amusing thing people have ever seen in Korat, or so they tell us and it’s probably the beginning of a joke. Thai is a “tonal” language meaning. Let me just say my experience with the Thai people has been a delight.

After many, many trips to the car, the team was finally ready to make the 15 minute car ride home. And oh, what a car ride it was. I felt like a dog, smelling the sea for the first time.
