Among the many great things he did in his life, he taught me my first guitar chords (C/Am/G). i learned much more than that from him of course, but that is what popped in my head this morning. a few pictures. He always told me that i was his favorite grandson. i was of course, his only grandson. :). Generous and funny and wise. Good man he was.

August 1-3, I had the pleasure of being involved in the shooting of a short independent film shot and set in Chicago and written, produced, and directed by my friend Splotchy. I was the sound recordist on the project, operating the boom mic, the mixer, and audio electronics stuff like that. It was an opening and a great learning experience for me. She was surely a complicated person with a very sharp wit and a fearless laugh, crazy smart, and also broken in many ways probably unfixable and now forever unknown.
