Defy Your Limitations: Passed!
http://defyyourlimitations.blogspot.com/2013/12/passed.html
Monday, December 16, 2013. If you follow me on Twitter. You know that I did officially pass my PhD defense. Smoothly during my presentation (with only a brief computer automatic restart shaking things up in the first few minutes). And I handed in all my final paperwork on Friday morning. It is so strange to be finished with my degree. But, I'm also excited to see wherever life will take me next. So, how was your weekend? Now through Dec 31! Posted by Kristen L. December 16, 2013 at 7:03 PM. Now you never...
Defy Your Limitations: April 2013
http://defyyourlimitations.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 29, 2013. A Great Group Ride. I was thinking that training or cycling in a group is probably like doing a group training run. A few reasons to train (for anything, really) with a partner:. 1 When you train with someone who is a little better or faster than you, it can really push you to improve your pace. Training with a partner can be a good change of pace from training alone. There are benefits to training alone too, but it can be good to mix things up. We made one wrong turn somewhere alo...

Defy Your Limitations: November 2013
http://defyyourlimitations.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Exercise Lately and Next Goals. I love having goals! And not just for exercise, for everyday life too. They help keep me on track and have a plan for each day, week, month, and year. Goals prevent me from being stagnant. Now that I'm basically fully recovered from the marathon. 1 Work on upper body strength - I missed working on pushups. Over the last few months during marathon training, so I want some of that strength back! Do you enjoy goal setting? Posted by Kristen L.

Megan's Take on Taking it All On. August 2, 2013. August 2, 2013. I found out yesterday morning that I was officially accepted for the Oiselle. For over the last year, I have been getting back to my roots in running, focusing on trying to reconnect, improve, and rediscover my drive to be better. Better at what, exactly? But I’m also striving to be better in a lot of other ways, too- like, better at balance. Sure, I want to be a. I eat better,. I even think better. Where do I sign up? Welcome to the team!

Race Report | Big Sur International Marathon | megrunnergirl

A chronicle of my life as a runner. Race Report Big Sur International Marathon. To say the Big Sur International Marathon course is stunning, breathtaking, surreal, awe-inspring, and downright b-e-a-U-tiful is an understatement. Holy freakin’ smokes. I still can’t really believe that I ran. Umm…can we stay…like…forever? After a full day of travel on Friday, we arrived in Monterey exhausted, but completely excited for the weekend. Before the highlight of the evening: the course tour. Our gear guy Jeff.

Megan's Take on Taking it All On. Sunrise to moonrise and back again: Racing Ragnar Trail Tahoe with Team @TheGearJunkie. July 30, 2013. It’s 2AM and it is taking all the concentration I have to keep my eyes open. I’m on my fourth of six laps in total, my second time on the trails. 19 miles down, 15 to go. I have to convince myself to stay alert, to look for rocks, to pick my feet up. Keep moving. Down the fire road. The faster you get down this mountain, the sooner you can sleep. And of course, Chris.

We Wander And Ponder. 8230; Preferably While Running. July 22, 2013. August 5, 2013. Yesterday didn’t go the way I envisioned it. By mile 4 I looked like I had jumped in the lake. I wasn’t dehydrated, but I was overheating. Each time I poured water over my head, I was surprised how cold it felt. When I saw Tim. At mile 6, I told them “it’s too hot, guys”. Side-5s were appreciated but they seemed so silly considering I knew it wasn’t going to happen. Thanks for capturing a strong moment, Britt. The weathe...

Defy Your Limitations | moving forward, one step at a time
Moving forward, one step at a time. Ironman Victoria 70.3 Race Recap. Even though these races have long since passed, I’d love to give a brief overview of my race and experience with both Ironman Victoria 70.3 and Ironman Canada. Finding the time to actually sit down and write has been tough, but I’d like to continue sharing my experiences while I can and to help me remember and learn more from them in the future. The race had a rolling swim start, which I found to be awesome. It was very easy for me...
