Placing the ear of my heart close to the whisper of Your voice O God. Friday, August 28, 2015. In answering the question from Renovation of the Heart in Daily Practice. Chapter 17 by Dallas Willard and Jan Johnson, of “tell God who you want to be on the inside, reflecting the character of Christ”, here was my response from August 25, 2014…. I want to live lightly and freely, trusting God in difficulties, hoping in Him, accessing His sufficient grace that is always available. I want to return good for evil.

Listening Heart: March 2014
http://shoemaker4him.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Placing the ear of my heart close to the whisper of Your voice O God. Saturday, March 29, 2014. Bless the Lord, O my soul, for You are so very good to me:. You brought me to Your side and opened my eyes so I could truly see You. You ignited my heart to say “Yes, I need You, I want You as my Lord and Savior” and ransomed me from the prison of my own self. You implanted Your very own Spirit within my body so we could always be together as one. Bless You Lord, O my soul, for You are so very good to me:.

Am I courageous enough to engage in the spiritual practice of being uncomfortable? Saturday, September 13, 2014. Why do I, like Peter, resist allowing You to wash my feet, Jesus? Listening Heart: Receiving the Day
http://shoemaker4him.blogspot.com/2015/07/receiving-day.html
Placing the ear of my heart close to the whisper of Your voice O God. Thursday, July 30, 2015. What are days for? They are where we live. Large enough to absorb many activities but small enough that we can see them whole. We need to learn to live them one at a time. When we take time to notice each day, we embrace it as one in which God is present and then we receive the day as His gift. Placing the ear of my heart close to the whisper of Your voice O God. Thursday, April 30, 2015. I had never thought about praying a "texture" prayer.contemplating a texture of some sort and asking God what He wanted to reveal to me through that. I chose a piece of rough sawn cedar to ponder. Here is what I sensed God showing me in this texture prayer. Is being willing to sit in the uncomfortable place also part of the sanding process? Or is God's comfort part of the sandpaper that smooths and soothes?

Listening Heart: Praises

Placing the ear of my heart close to the whisper of Your voice O God. Friday, March 20, 2015. I praise You God for. The beauty of Your creation and what You create every single day. The frosty dew on grass tops in spring that bring refreshment to the earth and reminds my heart You refresh me with rest in the night and sunrise every morning. The green shoots of new life poking from the ground and the first blooms of spring on the yellow forsythia which tell me resurrection is possible. And once again, for...

Placing the ear of my heart close to the whisper of Your voice O God. Saturday, March 21, 2015. From Richard Rohr's Falling Upward. You learn what your sin has to teach you by looking at what root it has, what longing or desire are you trying to meet somewhere other than in God. Then you ask Jesus how He wants to meet that desire in you. "Jesus, how have you meet my desire for in the last 24 hours? There is no limit to My Love; it fills all of space, time and eternity. Jesus Calling. I praise You God for.
