December 19, 2011. Thanksgiving Report Before Christmas. Posted by deliberatelysimple under Uncategorized. We had a fantastic November and Thanksgiving but you would never know given the absence of any blog postings! I’ve decided that it’s not too late as long as I post before Christmas Eve. Finally, we hosted Thanksgiving at our house and invited our friends over to eat. Dave cooked the turkey, I cooked sides and desserts, and all of our friends brought food to share. Everything was delicious! December ...

National Christmas Tree | deliberatelysimple

December 24, 2011. Posted by deliberatelysimple under Uncategorized. A few weeks ago we went with our friends to see the National Christmas Tree near the White House. Here are some pictures of our Christmas outing. Zach is thrilled to ride the metro with his pal. He is less thrilled by this iron fence. The iron fence keeps him from getting closer to what he really wants to see. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. Out Of My Mind. Back in five minutes…. Pill Chemo, Round Two. This entry was posted on June 26, 2012, in cancer. I’ll keep this short. I already wrote about the major drama of Round Two. Right now it’s chemo-free week, it’s gorgeous outside, and it’s only a few days until two of my sisters will be here for a visit. I’m even planning a trip to IKEA. What more could I ask for? Two down, six to go! 5 thoughts on “ Pill Chemo, Round Two. June 26, 2012 at 4:07 pm. I’m touched by your optimism! You are comment...

The Rushing Family:: April 2011

The simple story of our simple lives. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. Ty is now FIVE years old! He just couldn't wait until his birthday. (mostly couldn't wait for all his presents! Everytime we would go to Target he would hit me up for a pack of Pokemon cards. I would tell him he would have to wait until his birthday. He didn't like that answer. Oh, and he wanted all his cousins to be there too! Especially "Wheel" aka Will! He got to ride the motorcycle ride with Dad! He also won lots of tickets to get candy!

The simple story of our simple lives. Sunday, August 7, 2011. Bring on the "nines". Today my babies are 9! It seems like forever ago they were just tiny little wads of blanketed bundles riding home in the back of our Integra. Shane and I thinking.whoa, what next? The simple story of our simple lives. Monday, July 4, 2011. 4th of July in DC. What an amazing experience to celebrate the birth of our nation! We were so excited to join the many others at the National Mall downtown. We went there with some of Shane's co-workers. We found a spot right in between the Washington Monument and the WWII Memorial. I think we were a bit more excited about being there than most around us. Shane and I just couldn't stop smiling because it was just so cool! It was a good show!

Deliberately Searching for Creativity. To Begin. A Year in Rome. Saturday, June 12, 2010. We have packed the majority of our belongings – suitcases line our living room walls. The kitchen cupboards are relatively bare. Our refrigerator only contains memories of meals past…. Too soon, we will be leaving our beloved Roma. On purpose living and pursuing a simple life. January 2, 2015. And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown. By the way, I wasn't planning on this being the first real post, but given the circumstances I felt I had to do it. I immediately considered trying to return the beer to Giant, but there were 2 problems:. 1 It's gonna be hard to prove that I bought that very case of beer from Giant and that it was already broken when I bought it. Laughing in the face of it all. Thursday, December 1, 2011. Our National Christmas Tree Lighting Calamity. We won the lottery this year - the lottery for tickets to attend the 2011 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in D.C. Participating in the nationally televised celebration led by President Obama and his family was supposed to be a memorable experience my family would cherish for years to come. It was memorable alright, but for all the wrong reasons. Our tickets were standing room only, which m...
