Life as a Dupiche. Stumbling life of service. Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Thanksgiving was a tough day, but I am actually praising God that I still had to work! It kept me so busy so I was not pinning away missing my family in PA! Today, I am grading my student's autobiographies. It is actually a great time! I am learning so much about their past and what is special to them. I think I might have an author here! But she ends with this, "My life is still short, but plentiful and i am so blessed by the Lord!

BUT we found the culprit! FOOD If I don't eat I am fine! Actually, I just can't eat wheat or milk. Picnic in the park, I love watching giraffe and water buck from the picnic table! Before we went back, we stopped by the snake park! I could bring one home for you! One kind actually vibrates when you touch them. Meal times with the team and the TIMO staff. We went for tea at this neat lodge that had their own private game park where the animals were very tame.

Over the summer I went to language school in Iringa to learn/relearn/improve Swahili. The school has partnered with Riverside Campsite: students live and eat at the campsite and the teachers come Monday-Friday mornings for classes. It’s a good system na sasa ninajua vitu vyote kuhusu kiswahili! And now I know everything about Swahili) ;).

Wednesday, August 26. It's August and that means.school starts! I am back in grade 1 with 22 students (24 on the roster but some will come later in the year), 16 boys and 8 girls. That's a lot of 6 year old boys in a confined space, let me tell you! In the first three days, I've determined that. 1 Six years olds can project their voices better than many public speakers. 3 Children make me laugh. 4 I need to be at least in the process of going to bed by 9:00 to be rested and ready for a new day!
