Katie and Derek: April 2014
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 28, 2014. We had the awesome opportunity to compete in the Cotopaxi Questival with our friends, Nicki Clark, and Lance Anderson. It was awesome. What is it you might ask? Cotopaxi is a start up outdoor gear company with a really awesome mission. You should check them out and support them. I do. Here. Rules = no splitting up to divide and conquer tasks. All 4 backpacks must be in every picture. Must sleep 6 hours. Take a ski run and ride a chair lift. Yoga in a scenic location. Hike Donut Fa...

Katie and Derek: July 2015
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. We have a son! And he is beyond beautiful. He is so calm and peaceful (except when you are changing his diaper/clothes or giving him a bath, then he screams bloody murder). But we have a son. I am a mom. Derek is a dad. We have waited so long and worked so hard for this experience and our lives are changed forever. For the better. Birth is awesome. In so many ways. Painful? Alright. July 1, 2015. Due date. Walking it out. Don't I look great? On the birthing ball. At 11:45 the bi...

Katie and Derek: Our Story: Part 2
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2015/06/our-story-part-2.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. Our Story: Part 2. Now for the happier part of the saga. I can't say how sweet it felt to have so much support. People came out of the woodwork. It was more than family and close friends. Truly, I can't think of anything more kind anyone has ever done for me/us or ever could. So, we had the marathon coming up. So we decided to start treatment after the marathon was over. So we ran and then I called my Dr. to get the party started. (PS: IVF is NOT a party.). She smiles and says, "...

Katie and Derek: January 2014
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 29, 2014. So I got an awesome Christmas present, a sewing machine. I have wanted to re-learn to sew for a long time. But I don't have a sewing machine. Now I do. I went and hung out with my awesome friend, Ali Dastrup, and she helped me re-learn how to sew. And this is what I made. It is a hot pad. I also made a little horse out of the scraps for my nephew. But I didn't take a picture of that. Friday, January 24, 2014. I didn't train so I will run with you.). On Sunday we went to Zion ...

Katie and Derek: October 2014
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. Every year since 1990, my dad has run the St. George Marathon, with the exception of 2006 because of some crazy medical stuff that happened that summer. He is an animal. We trained hard. We trained smart. We moved to SLC which = running LOTS of hills. And it paid of because. WE ARE GOING TO BOSTON! Anyway. Derek has qualified before. Last year I was 25 seconds off my qualifying time. Not this year. I don't mean to brag, but we crushed our times. I won't lie. I felt really goo...

Katie and Derek: Our Story: Part 1
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2015/06/our-story-part-1.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. Our Story: Part 1. It has taken me a long time to write this because I felt like I needed to find the perfect words to describe our journey while still being respectful to friends of our's who are still in the same situation we have been blessed to leave behind. Yes Have we begged? Yes Have we cried? Countless tears. Have we been angry? More than anybody could know. Have we doubted? Yes Have we struggled? Yes Was it worth it? Every day. What if I missed my chance? Testing went on...

Katie and Derek: Fall Update
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2014/10/fall-update.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. This summer has been a busy one. River trips. Camping trips. Family reunions. Boating. Running. Hiking. Adventures. House stuff. Working. Koda. It has been crazy. But here are a few things we have done this fall and by fall I mean September. Hiking with the pup. He is getting to be a good little hiker, as long as it isn't too long of a trail. He gets super excited when he isn't on a walk in our neighborhood or Sugarhouse Park. We love this sign. October 6, 2014 at 1:10 PM. The Ho...

Katie and Derek: September 2014
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 6, 2014. This is such a blessing to us. After a long time of feeling hopeless and alone, we have a beautiful ray of hope and we could not have done it without all of our amazing family and friends. Thank you all so much. We love and appreciate you more than we can ever express and more than you can ever know. Trip to my Childhood. It was great. Here is why. View of the Provo River at dusk from our "campsite". Me and my Mountain Dog. Panoramic shot of the surrounding peaks and Derek.

Katie and Derek: October 2013
http://katieanderek.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 10, 2013. Perks of being up early. Colorado sunrises. The pictures don't due justice. Tuesday, October 8, 2013. I'm talking about a little place called Assssspen. The best of the pictures were taken with our actual camera (I know we actually brought a camera along. A rarity since the introduction of smart phones into our lives), and our camera is being stupid and not connecting to our computer. So, you just get my phone pictures. But I think I still did a pretty good job. Journey to the...
