From the Delta to the DMZ. Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand in 4 months. May 11, 2011. The long road home. Inflight entertainment has come a long way since the days of one tv screen shared between several passengers. I am still traumatised by the memory of that Air France flight back from Cuba where the only movie was. Dubbed into French and then subtitled back into English. Skycam - the eagle has landed. When travelling internationally time disappears, slips through your fingers like s...

2010 is dead. Long live 2011 | ordinary little art
https://ordinarylittleart.wordpress.com/2011/01/01/2010-is-dead-long-live-2011
Arts and crafts in everyday life. 2010 is dead. Long live 2011. January 1, 2011 in musings. It’s that time of year where one’s supposed to look back and think about what’s been achieved and make plans for the following year. I didn’t make very much jewellery this year. I experimented more with making greeting cards and I painted a couple of horses. From the Delta to the DMZ. National Novel Writing Month. Comments feed for this article. January 1, 2011 at 10:59 pm. Arts and crafts in everyday life. Art from the past. January 8, 2011 in painting. A friend recently emailed me photos of some paintings I did in my late teens and had given to her many years ago. I went through a phase of painting with acrylics onto slate. I liked the rustic romance of slate as a material, although the smoothness of the surface often left something to be desired. Seascape - acrylic on slate. Tiger - acrylic on slate. Horse at dusk - acrylic on slate. Bay horse - oil paint on canvas board.

Arts and crafts in everyday life. Blue earring and necklace set. December 6, 2010 in jewellery. I made this a couple of weeks ago as a birthday gift for a friend. A long time ago *cough* she had requested earrings in blue and I finally got round to making them. I chucked in a matching necklace – first time I’ve made a matching set. From the Delta to the DMZ. Snow Plan | ordinary little art
https://ordinarylittleart.wordpress.com/2010/12/12/snow-plan
Arts and crafts in everyday life. December 12, 2010 in Cards. As I mentioned in a previous post, I’m going travelling for 4 months at the start of next year, so I’ve been running around trying to sort everything out: finishing at my job; packing everything up to go into storage; buying supplies and planning etc. This hasn’t left much time for craft-related activities. I’ve been doing a bit of planning for the second draft of the novel and hope to do some more over Xmas. From the Delta to the DMZ. Blue ea...

Arts and crafts in everyday life. December 27, 2010 in musings. It’s been a rather busy couple of weeks. I packed up all my stuff, which is now in various states of storage between London, Brighton and Plymouth. Christmas is more or less done and dusted. I finished my job and am staying at my parents for 3 weeks before the big trip – 4 months travelling round South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand which starts in mid January. https://ordinarylittleart.wordpress.com/2010/12/04/observations-on-nanowrimo-2010-part-3-the-story
Arts and crafts in everyday life. Observations on Nanowrimo 2010: Part 3, the story. December 4, 2010 in fiction. I now have 50,000 words of something. Add that to last year’s 50,000 and the 10,000 I wrote in the 11 months in between, and I now have a 110,000 words of something. The second half didn’t entirely pan out like I had envisaged. One of the narrators disappeared. A main character totally changed job and a mystery that didn’t exist before suddenly became crucial. What I’m doing at the mome...

From the Delta to The DMZ Vietnam war veteran country song
Lyrics by Bob Snoozy©. From the Highlands to the sea, from Basra to Mosul, from Najaf to Tikrit, we all spent a Lifetime there one year Fighting to keep us free. This song is an up tempo country rendition that reflects on how experiences of Vietnam are being relived today by the soldiers and families of those fighting in the Middle East, while they spend a lifetime one year, here or there fighting to keep us free, and what we should learn from that service to share with future generations!
